Toyo Shinyaku Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture; Headquarters: Tosu City, Saga Prefecture; President: Toshimitsu Hattori) has been granted patent rights for its “Easy PowderTM” technology that makes powdered protein dissolve easily without the need for a shaker.
Protein has been used mainly by athletes, bodybuilders, and muscle trainers before the spread of the new coronavirus infection. In the coronavirus pandemic its use is expanding to light users as well, matching the body makeup needs of those who want to address lack of exercise and young women who want to lose weight. Furthermore, for the purpose of preventing frailty, protein is also spreading to seniors for protein intake, making it one of the most widely used health food categories.
Protein food forms include bar-type and jelly-type protein, but “powdered” protein is often used because it allows the amount of protein intake to be adjusted. However, powdered protein has the problem of being difficult to dissolve, and there are methods such as using a “shaker” or devising the order in which to add the powder and milk or water, but these methods have the disadvantage of being time-consuming.
TOYO SHINYAKU has been working to solve this “hard-to-dissolve” issue by using its knowledge of formulation technology that it has developed over many years of granulating natural products such as young barley leaf powder as powdered green juice products. As a result, our proprietary “Easy PowderTM” has enabled us to develop powdered protein products that dissolve without the use of a “shaker”.
